Who Can Visit?

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Food Pantry primarily serves families and individuals who live within the boundaries of the OLOPH community. If you don't live in the area, you won't be turned away. The pantry will give you a one-time food voucher for that day and share information about a food pantry closer to your home.

Items Needed for Registration

Bring a valid ID when you come.

Good to Know

Try to arrive at least 30 to 60 minutes before the pantry opens. Have your ID ready when you get there. You'll be registered quickly and given a ticket to shop for groceries. It's also a good idea to bring a carry bag, rolling cart, or something else to carry your groceries home.

Food & Essentials

The pantry offers a wide variety of grocery items including meats, breads, fresh produce, and dairy products. You can take as much fresh produce as you want. Meat comes pre-bagged, so you won't be able to choose specific cuts. If meat isn't available, pre-bagged ready-made or frozen meals and snacks are offered as a substitute. Reviewers have noted there's plenty of bread and fresh vegetables, and that it's possible to cook complete meals from what's available.

Senior Boxes are also available for visitors who are 60 years of age or older and have a monthly income of less than $1,200.

How to Pick Up

This is a client-choice pantry where you pick your own items from what's available that day. After you register and get your ticket, you shop for the groceries you need.

Additional Support

The pantry offers a Utility Assistance MATCH Program in partnership with St. Vincent DePaul Society of Greater St. Louis. If you bring $25.00 in cash and a copy of the utility bill you want help with, the MATCH Program will add $50.00, so a total of $75.00 goes directly toward your bill. Numbers for MATCH assistance are given out starting at 8:00 a.m., and only 20 MATCH bills are paid each Tuesday and Thursday. Bring exact change since no change is made on location.

There's usually a nurse on-site during food pantry and utility assistance hours who can check your blood pressure and share health information.

The pantry also holds a Community Outreach Substance Abuse Support and Help Meeting every Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at 4335 Warne Ave. This is a confidential meeting open to anyone who needs support.

Volunteers can help connect you with resources for obtaining an ID or birth certificate, and flu shots are sometimes available.

Ways to Give

You can donate online through the pantry's donation page. The pantry is funded entirely through donations of time and money. You can also reach them by phone at (314) 535-9794.

How to Join the Team?

The pantry is run by volunteers and welcomes anyone who wants to help, no matter your age. Volunteers are needed one or more days a week. There are many areas to contribute, including grocery packing, truck unloading, produce sorting, driving and food pickup, senior bag delivery, office support, building maintenance, marketing, social media, computers and IT, and graphic design. If you have a special skill not listed, reach out and let them know. You can submit a volunteer form on the volunteer page or call (314) 535-9794.
