Who Can Visit?

The Community Food Pantry serves residents in specific zip codes in the Tampa area. You must live in one of the covered zip codes to receive food. Those seeking food assistance within the community are welcome to come during distribution hours. The pantry serves one family per address.

Items Needed for Registration

Bring a driver's license, passport, or government-issued ID, and proof of your current address.

How Often You Can Visit?

After your first visit, you'll be given an appointment card for your next visit. Clients can return once every 4 to 6 weeks.

Good to Know

Your first visit is a walk-in. No appointment is needed for your first time only. After that, you'll receive an appointment for future visits. Don't arrive before 9 a.m. as the line doesn't form until then. Arrive by 10:45 a.m. to get into the line safely. Stay in your vehicle and place your car in park when you're in the driveway. Please follow all traffic rules and don't park on neighborhood streets or private property.

Food & Essentials

The pantry distributes a wide variety of food, including fresh produce, frozen meats, eggs, milk, bread, canned goods, and boxed items. Donations come from nearby supermarkets including Publix, Sprouts, Fresh Market, and Whole Foods. Hygiene bags are also available for clients.

How to Pick Up

This is a drive-through distribution. Stay in your vehicle and pop your trunk, or let staff know if you'd prefer food placed in the backseat. The pantry aims to move about one car per minute through the line.

Additional Support

The pantry offers blood pressure screenings and connects clients with information on social services. Resource Fairs are held for the community to access advice and additional resources in one place. A resources page links to health and nutrition services, senior services, legal and financial help, family services, and transportation options.

Ways to Give

Monetary donations can be made online or in person at the office Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Food donations of non-perishable, unopened, and unexpired items are accepted Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Sundays 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., or placed in the blue donation bins outside the pantry at any time. The most-needed items include cereals, spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, canned meats, peanut butter, canned vegetables and fruits, dried beans, pasta, rice, and macaroni and cheese.

How to Join the Team?

Volunteers of all ages are welcome, including middle school and high school students who can earn community service hours. Groups, clubs, sports teams, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and corporate teams are encouraged to inquire about group projects. Sign up through the online volunteer sign-up or email volunteer@thecommunityfoodpantry.com for group inquiries.
