Who Can Visit?

The Kansas City Dream Center Pantry serves anyone in need. The pantry offers free food to anyone facing financial hardships, making sure these basic necessities are accessible to anyone who needs them. You do not need to meet any specific income or residency requirement listed on the site.

Appointments are required to visit the food pantry. Food appointments are made every 30 days, and each appointment is 10 minutes long. You can book your food pantry appointment online at kcdreamcenter.org/pantry/.

How to Order?

To schedule your food pantry visit, use the online booking calendar on the pantry page at kcdreamcenter.org/pantry/. Select a date and time that works for you. You can also note how many additional people will be coming with you.

How Often You Can Visit?

Food appointments are made every 30 days, meaning each person or household can come back once every 30 days to receive food.

Food & Essentials

The Dream Center Pantry is stocked with a wide variety of free food. It provides fresh produce, canned goods, and other essential items to help ease the strain of food insecurity. The team also offers guidance on nutrition and healthy eating so visitors can make informed choices about their diet.

How to Pick Up

Pantry appointments are scheduled in advance and each food visit lasts 10 minutes. Volunteers help customers shop for food and take it to their vehicles. The entrance to the pantry is on N 15th Street at 1500 Central Avenue.

Additional Support

Beyond food, the Kansas City Dream Center offers a Clothing Pantry that provides free clothing and accessories to individuals and families in need. The selection includes professional attire for job interviews as well as everyday wear. Clothing appointments are also made every 30 days, and each clothing appointment is 30 minutes long. The Dream Center also runs a Mobile Food Distribution on the first Saturday of every month. Hundreds of cars line up for this drive-thru event where families receive fresh, healthy food including fruits, vegetables, dairy, and non-perishable items.

Street Outreach teams go out to people living on the streets, under bridges, and in homeless camps to deliver food, snacks, and water, and to share information about available services.

The Dream Center also hosts Community Events throughout the year, including Thanksgiving meals, Christmas giveaways, back-to-school drives, barbecues, and kids' activities.

Ways to Give

The Kansas City Dream Center welcomes financial donations and in-kind gifts. Monetary donations go directly toward supporting vital programs and services. Corporate partners, large donors, and community organizations are also invited to collaborate through financial contributions, volunteer days, in-kind donations, or event sponsorships.

How to Join the Team?

Volunteers are a vital part of the Dream Center's work. You can help in many ways, including assisting customers in the food pantry, sorting and unpacking Harvesters deliveries, picking up food from Harvesters, doing street outreach, and more.

To get started, create a volunteer account at kcdreamcenter.org/account_registration/. You will need to be 18 or older to register yourself. If you are under 18, a parent can register an account and sign you up as a volunteer. Once registered, you can explore upcoming volunteer opportunities and sign up for shifts at kcdreamcenter.org/outreach-opportunities/.

The Dream Center also offers a Short Term Missions program for individuals, churches, and groups who want to serve for one to two weeks. To book a trip, visit kcdreamcenter.org/missions/.
