Who Can Visit?

Parish Kitchen welcomes anyone who is hungry. There are no income limits, ID requirements, or eligibility restrictions. Whether you're homeless, on a fixed income, or simply can't afford food that day, you're welcome to walk in and share a meal. The kitchen has been serving free lunches in Covington since 1974 and is open every single day of the year.

Good to Know

Lunch is served daily from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The kitchen is open 365 days a year, including holidays. Reviewers note that portions can be on the smaller side, so arriving during service hours is a good idea if you want to make sure you get a full meal. The staff and volunteers treat every guest with dignity, respect, and warmth.

Food & Essentials

Parish Kitchen serves a hot, freshly prepared lunch every day. Meals are wholesome and nutritious, and the menu varies day to day. Reviewers note the food is generally decent to good. On some days, guests can also pick up bread, canned goods, or other pantry items to take home. The kitchen also distributes personal hygiene products, and during the winter months guests can receive warm clothing accessories like gloves, hats, scarves, and blankets.

How to Pick Up

Just walk in during lunch hours, which run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every day. No registration, appointment, or ID is needed. Staff and volunteers will seat you and bring your meal.

Additional Support

Parish Kitchen offers more than just a meal. Some days volunteers from outside organizations are on-site to help guests access health care insurance enrollment. Nurses also visit periodically during lunch hours to check vital signs and provide basic health services. The kitchen connects guests with a broad network of support through Catholic Charities, Diocese of Covington, which also offers counseling, housing, and referral services.

Ways to Give
