The Lighthouse Ministries - Food Distribution Center
Who Can Visit?
Rose's Cupboard is open to adults and families in the community, especially those facing food insecurity in Lexington's East End neighborhood. The website doesn't list any income or residency requirements — anyone who needs food is welcome to come.
Food & Essentials
Through a partnership with God's Pantry Food Bank, Rose's Cupboard distributes a wide variety of food, including shelf-stable items, fresh produce, dairy products, frozen goods, and meats.
How to Pick Up
Rose's Cupboard operates as a choice-based pantry where you shop for your own groceries, just like in a store. You walk through and pick the items you'd like to take home in a dignified and welcoming environment. The pantry is open Fridays from 2 to 4 PM.
Additional Support
Lighthouse Ministries offers several other services at 190 Spruce St:
- Dining with Dignity: Hot meals are served daily. Lunch is at noon and dinner is at 5:30 PM, Monday through Saturday. A meal is also served on Sundays at 5 PM.
- Michael's Feet: New and lightly used shoes are distributed on a regular basis, with an average of 20 to 30 pairs given away each month.
- Clean Start case management: The Clean Start program connects people with medical services, mental health support, Veterans Administration resources, job readiness programs, and housing referrals.
Facilities
The Clean Start ministry at this location offers free hot showers Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 11 AM and again from 1 to 2:30 PM. No appointment is needed — walk-ins are welcome. Haircuts are available on Wednesdays from 1 to 3 PM (hair must be clean). Clients can also receive toiletry items, clean clothes, and shoes as needed.
Ways to Give
You can donate money through DonorBox or PayPal at paypal.me/lighthouselex, or mail a check to Lighthouse Ministries, PO Box 54494, Lexington, KY 40555.
