Who Can Visit?

SON Ministries is open to anyone who is financially eligible and lives in the Northwest Local School District or the North College Hill School District west of Hamilton Avenue. To qualify, your gross household income must be at or below the limit for your household size (stimulus and child credit payments do not count toward income).

Items Needed for Registration

When you come for the first time, please bring:

  • A photo ID
  • Proof of residency dated within the last 30 days (something that shows your current address)

You will also need to certify that your household income meets the eligibility guidelines.

How Often You Can Visit?

You can visit the food pantry once per month.

Good to Know

  • Please arrive at least 20 minutes before closing time so there is enough time to serve you.
  • SON Ministries does not offer financial assistance or food deliveries — visits must be made in person during open hours.
  • The pantry is located in the lower level of Groesbeck Methodist Church at 8871 Colerain Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45251.
  • The pantry is closed on major holidays and school closure days. If Northwest Local Schools are closed for bad weather, the pantry is also closed. Closed dates for 2025 include: 1/1, 1/20, 2/17, 5/26, 9/1, 11/27, and 12/22/25–1/4/26.
  • Open hours are:
    • Mondays: 10:00am – 12:00pm
    • Wednesdays: 10:00am – 12:00pm or 4:30pm – 6:30pm

SON Ministries provides a variety of food and household items, including:

  • Non-perishable food items
  • Meats
  • Toiletries
  • Holiday boxes (available around the holidays)

Ways to Give

SON Ministries welcomes both food and money donations at any time.

  • Food donations can be dropped off only during open pantry hours.
  • Monetary donations should be made payable to SON Ministries and sent to Cincinnati, OH 45251.

How to Join the Team?

SON Ministries is an all-volunteer, ecumenical pantry — meaning volunteers from any church background and the broader community are welcome. The pantry has relied on volunteers since it was founded in 1981.
