Who Can Visit?
The Worthington Resource Pantry serves people who live in eight ZIP codes in northern Franklin and southern Delaware counties: 43016, 43035, 43065, 43081, 43085, 43229, 43235, and 43240. To qualify, your household income must be less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. You don't need to sign up before you come. Just arrive during pantry hours and you'll be helped the same day.
If you can't make it to the pantry yourself, a friend or family member can shop in your place. They'll need to complete a proxy form and bring it when they visit.
Items Needed for Registration
Please have your name and ZIP code available when you arrive. Reviewers noted that proof of address and ID may be helpful to bring on your first visit.
How Often You Can Visit?
You can shop at the Choice Pantry up to twice a month. On the first, second, and fifth Saturdays (Produce and Bread Quick Shop days), those visits don't count toward your two-per-month limit.
Good to Know
Each full shopping visit provides more than 50 pounds of food including meat, dairy, dry goods, and personal care items. Arrive early, as the pantry gets busy and lines can form before opening. The income and household size information you provide is based on the honor system, so you don't need to bring proof of income or family size.
Food & Essentials
The pantry offers a wide range of groceries. During full shopping days, you can expect to find fresh produce like fruits and vegetables, dairy items such as milk and eggs, meat, bread, canned goods, dry goods, boxed and bagged shelf-stable foods, personal care products like laundry detergent, tissues, deodorant, and toothbrushes and toothpaste. Pet food for dogs and cats is available as long as supplies last. Diapers, baby food, and formula are also available while supplies are available. On the first, second, and fifth Saturdays, the pantry offers a Produce and Bread Quick Shop instead of full pantry shopping.
How to Pick Up
The Worthington Resource Pantry is a client-choice pantry, which means you shop for your own items just like in a store. Friendly volunteers greet you at the door, help you check in, and guide you through the space while you shop. This makes it easy to take only the things you know you'll use and reduces waste.
Additional Support
The Resource Center at the pantry connects neighbors to services for additional food options, clothing, maternity and baby care items, healthcare and medication, and utility bill assistance.
If you're homebound and can't make it to the pantry or send someone to shop for you, you can sign up for Homebound Delivery. Each delivery includes two bags of canned and dried goods, fresh produce, bakery items, meat, milk, eggs, and personal hygiene products. You can choose a meat option, opt out of certain foods, and request pet food or diapers while supplies allow. Deliveries happen every Thursday between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM. You must sign up by Wednesday at 5:00 PM to receive a delivery that week. Sign up for Homebound Delivery here.
The pantry also runs Pop-Up Pantries at two low-income housing facilities in the service area, serving more than 1,000 families each year. These pop-ups run twice a month.
