The Friendship House - Food Distribution Center
Who Can Visit?
The Friendship House is open to anyone who needs help. They're currently accepting all zip codes, so you don't need to live in a specific area to receive food. You'll need to call ahead and schedule an appointment before visiting.
How to Register?
Call 972-512-3838 to make an appointment. Because spots can fill up, it's a good idea to call as early as possible. If you have an appointment and can't make it, be sure to call to cancel so you don't lose your spot.
How Often You Can Visit?
Families can receive food every week.
Good to Know
You'll need an appointment before each visit. If you have an appointment and can't come or don't call to cancel it, you won't be able to return for 30 days. Staff members are known for being warm and kind, and they'll bring bags of groceries right to your car. Volunteers are also available to help you fill out forms if you need assistance.
Food & Essentials
The Friendship House provides free groceries and food for families in need. Donated items regularly include canned proteins like chicken, tuna, and salmon, beef stew, chicken noodle soup, and beans. They also carry canned fruits and vegetables, and peanut butter. In addition to food, they distribute personal care items such as shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, toilet paper, sanitary napkins, diapers in all sizes, and baby wipes.
How to Pick Up
When you arrive for your appointment, staff will bring bags of groceries out to your car for you. You'll fill out a short application form while they load the food.
Additional Support
The Friendship House offers more than just food. Staff can help you fill out forms to apply for Medicare or SNAP benefits. They also offer financial assistance as they're able. You can request prayer by emailing friendshiphouse@firstfields.org. For other local resources, they recommend visiting AuntBertha.com.
Ways to Give
The Friendship House welcomes food donations and financial donations. You can drop off food donations during hours of operation, and you can give online at any time at Give Now. Items most needed include canned proteins (chicken, tuna, salmon), beef stew, chicken noodle soup, beans, canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter, and toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, toilet paper, sanitary napkins, diapers in all sizes, baby wipes, and gently used clean grocery bags.
How to Join the Team?
Volunteers are needed in several areas including truck driving, data entry, client intake, food pantry assistance, and shelf-stocking. To get involved, contact the team by email at friendshiphouse@firstfields.org.
