Who Can Visit?

Dallas Bethlehem Center's Bethlehem Market is a no-barriers-to-entry food pantry. No identification or income verification is required to receive food. No reservation is required either, so you can walk right in during open hours.

How Often You Can Visit?

The sources don't mention a visit frequency limit, so there's no stated cap on how often you can come.

Good to Know

On Thursdays, volunteers are available to help you shop. Please note that on Thursdays, the last client name is taken at 1:45 pm so that all shopping can be completed by the 2:00 pm closing time. Reviewers have noted that the pantry offers fresh food and vegetables, so you can expect quality produce during your visit.

Food & Essentials

The pantry focuses on distributing healthy food items. DBC partners with Lovers' Lane United Methodist Church to distribute almost 100,000 pounds of fresh produce each year, including fresh vegetables. The Center also supplements donations with healthy protein sources. As a Community Distribution Partner (CDP) with Crossroads, a hub of the North Texas Food Bank, it receives a steady supply of supplemental groceries.

How to Pick Up

Bethlehem Market is a client-choice food pantry. That means you get to shop for the items you need and want, and leave what you don't for other families. It works just like a small store where you pick out your own groceries.

Additional Support

Beyond the food pantry, Dallas Bethlehem Center offers several other programs to support the neighborhood:

Family Dinner — Two hot, healthy evening meals are served on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The meals are free, with no ID or income verification required and no reservation needed. At 6:00 pm, seconds are offered to anyone who'd like a second plate. Starting at 6:30 pm, "To-Go" plates are given out if enough food remains, limited to two per person. Seniors or those with disabilities can register for "To-Go" meals without waiting until 6:30 pm by emailing admin@dallasbethlehemcenter.org.

Youth Education — Summer programming for youth in the community, including camps and educational programs for teens.

Adult Education — Classes on topics like financial literacy, banking, domestic violence awareness, effective parenting, and healthy food preparation, often hosted by partner agencies.

Computer Lab / Tech Tuesdays — Every Tuesday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Connected Dallas offers free computer assistance and classes at the DBC computer lab. No appointment is necessary.

Community Garden — A garden where neighbors and volunteers plant, harvest, and tend vegetables, flowers, and fruits. Produce from the garden is used for Family Dinner and distributed to neighbors.
