Who Can Visit?

The Stewpot's food pantry is for individuals and households who are experiencing food insecurity. If you're housed and struggling to put food on the table, this pantry is here for you. The pantry runs on an appointment-based system, so you'll need to schedule a visit in advance. Walk-ins are welcome every day from 12 to 1 PM, and on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month as well.

How to Register?

If you're new to the Stewpot Food Pantry, you don't need an appointment to start. Just come in as a walk-in and staff will help you complete the registration process. After that, you can schedule future appointments by visiting the campus at 1610 S. Malcolm X Blvd, Building 300. You're not able to schedule appointments yourself online or by phone. If you miss an appointment, call 469-573-0148 to reschedule. Be aware that new appointments are usually scheduled two to three weeks out from the time you call.

How Often You Can Visit?

You can return as a walk-in as long as it has been at least 14 days since your last pantry visit. For scheduled appointments, staff will help you set up your next visit each time you come.

Good to Know

The pantry is open Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM. Walk-ins are accepted every day from 12 to 1 PM, and on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Walk-in service on the same day is not guaranteed and depends on current availability. The pantry observes certain holidays and will be closed on those days. Check The Stewpot's homepage for holiday closure notices.

How to Pick Up

The Stewpot Food Pantry uses a client-choice model where volunteers act as shopping assistants, greeters, baggers, and cart runners to help you through the pantry. When you visit, staff and volunteers will guide you through the process of selecting your groceries.
