Who Can Visit?

North Ellis County Outreach serves families who live in the 75154 or 75125 zip code areas, or who are in the Red Oak or Ferris Independent School District service areas, and who meet the poverty guidelines. To receive help, you'll need to contact their Client Assistance office first to make an appointment or ask about their programs.

How to Register?

  1. Call (972) 617-7261 and choose opt. 1, or email clientassistance@necoutreach.org to make an inquiry through the Client Assistance office.
  2. Collect the required documents.
  3. Upload your documents electronically by the deadline.
  4. Wait while case managers review your case.
  5. Receive assistance once you're qualified.

Good to Know

Assistance is given by appointment only. The office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The office is located in the first building in front of the Pennies From Heaven Thrift Store at 404 S. Hwy 342, Red Oak, TX 75154.

Food & Essentials

North Ellis County Outreach provides emergency groceries to families in need. They also offer holiday meals during special times of the year. Qualified families may receive a voucher to shop free in the on-site Pennies From Heaven Thrift Store, where they can find gently used clothing, shoes, housewares, and more.

Additional Support

Beyond food, North Ellis County Outreach offers a range of programs for those who qualify:

  • Utility Assistance to help with energy bills, including support through the TXU Energy Aid assistance program
  • Senior Citizen and Disability Monthly Assistance for eligible individuals
  • "Santa Tree" Christmas Gifts for children during the holiday season
  • Holiday Meals for families around special times of year

Facilities

Qualified families may receive a free shopping voucher for the Pennies From Heaven Thrift Store located on-site. The thrift store carries gently used clothing, shoes, housewares, knick-knacks, toys, furniture, home decor, and books.

  • Financial donations: 100% of financial donations go directly to families in need. You can donate online today or contact the office at (972) 617-7261.
  • Donate items to the thrift store: Gently used clothing, shoes, housewares, knick-knacks, toys, furniture, home decor, and books are all welcome. The donation building is open at any time (closed occasionally when full).
  • Food donations: Call (972) 617-7261 opt. 1 or email clientassistance@necoutreach.org if you'd like to donate food.

How to Join the Team?

North Ellis County Outreach welcomes volunteers, including individuals, families, churches, and businesses. Volunteers can work in the food pantry stocking shelves or helping families with food items, in the thrift store, or with special programs. All volunteers must complete an application process, background check, and orientation before being placed in any role.
