If your address is in one of the eligible zip codes, you'll fill out a short registration form available in both English and Spanish. You'll then receive a pantry ID card to bring with you on every future visit.
Items Needed for Registration
Bring one of the following when you come for your first visit:
- A valid photo ID
- A utility or service bill showing your name and home address
How Often You Can Visit?
Each family must wait at least 14 days between visits.
Good to Know
The pantry may close before the posted end time when food runs out, so arriving early gives you the best chance of being served. St. Anthony's Bread serves thousands of families every month and is the second largest food distributor in Montgomery County, Texas.
How to Pick Up
Food is packed in advance and distributed in bags or boxes. Visitors drive up and wait in a car line, and volunteers load the food directly into vehicles.
Additional Support
The church offers a community resources guide in both English and Spanish with local contacts for financial aid, legal help, and employment assistance. St. Vincent de Paul, another ministry at the same church, can help with short-term emergency needs like rent, utility bills, and other urgent costs. Call 281-466-1920 and leave a message with your name and return phone number.
Ways to Give
You can donate online to the food pantry through the Pushpay giving page. The pantry's EIN is 76-0545136, which you may need for tax records or to request a corporate matching gift from your employer. The pantry currently needs canned tuna, chicken, or salmon, ramen, jelly in plastic jars, Chef Boyardee products, flour, sugar, cooking oil, lunch-box-size chips, condiments like ketchup, mustard, and mayo, and salt and pepper. For questions, email aflower@ap.church.
How to Join the Team?
Many volunteers are needed to keep the pantry running. Tasks include unloading truck deliveries, sorting food donations, stocking shelves, pre-packing food bags, and loading food into clients' cars. Volunteers must be at least 6 years old. Children ages 6 to 16 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is Safe Environment compliant. Adults 18 and older must first complete Safe Environment training at galvestonhouston.cmgconnect.org. Once certified, weekday volunteers can simply show up at 7 AM on any weekday. Saturday volunteers need to sign up in advance through Planning Center. Volunteer shifts run Monday through Saturday from 7 AM to 10 AM. Questions? Email Adriana Flower.
