Community of Hope - Food Distribution Center
Who Can Visit?
Community of Hope primarily serves families in the River Region. Anyone can come in person on a food day to receive food. No appointment is needed, but the pantry serves up to 60 families per session on a first come, first served basis, so arriving early helps.
How Often You Can Visit?
Households are welcome to come for food once every two months. This helps the pantry serve as many families as possible. Clothes-Only shopping days have no visit limits and are open to anyone.
Good to Know
Food goes quickly, and distribution is first come, first served until bags are gone. On food days, families who pick up food can also shop for clothes and household items afterward.
Food & Essentials
Visitors receive a pre-packed bag with groceries and basic hygiene items to help make it through the month. On food days and Clothes-Only shopping days, the pantry also offers clothes, shoes, and household items to browse and take home.
How to Pick Up
Volunteers prepare grocery and hygiene bags ahead of each food day. Visitors come in, pick up their pre-packed bag, and can then shop the clothes and household items area. There's no order form or pre-ordering involved. Everything is first come, first served until supplies run out.
Additional Support
Furniture Ministry: If you need furniture, you can request specific items through an application process. What's available depends on current donations. Call the pantry for details.
Referrals: Staff can also point you toward other food banks and resources in the area.
Prayer: The team is glad to pray with anyone who needs it. Call or text during hours of operation at (334) 235-2634.
Facilities
A shower is available in the men's restroom for anyone who doesn't have access to one at home.
Ways to Give
Donations of money and goods are both welcome. You can give online at onrealm.org by credit or debit card, or mail a check payable to Community of Hope to PO Box 11091, Montgomery, AL 36111.
Donated goods are accepted Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 1 PM and on the first Saturday of each month from 9 AM to 1 PM. Accepted items include food, hygiene products, clothes, shoes, household items, appliances, and furniture. All items should be in good working condition. The pantry can't provide transportation to pick up donations, but if you're able to help transport furniture, give them a call.
How to Join the Team?
