Bay Chapel Food Pantry
Who Can Visit?
Bay Chapel Food Pantry welcomes everyone in need. There are no documentation requirements and no registration needed. The pantry follows the example of Jesus, who turned no one away, and joyfully serves everyone regardless of race, color, national origin, age, sex, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, or political beliefs. Just show up during hours of operation on Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
Good to Know
The pantry gives out one box of groceries per family per visit. If you have your own bags, you're welcome to bring them. If not, they'll provide a box to carry your food. Don't be discouraged if there's a line when you arrive — reviewers say it moves fast. The pantry is located on the property of Tampa Bay Presbyterian Church at 19911 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33647, across the street from Walmart and behind Christian Brothers Automotive.
Food & Essentials
Bay Chapel Food Pantry provides a variety of nutritious food, including fresh produce, dairy, meat, and non-perishable items like canned goods and pasta. It's a drive-through distribution, so reviewers have noted receiving vegetables, meat, and ready-to-eat items. The pantry partners with Feeding Tampa Bay to source fresh, healthy food for the community.
How to Pick Up
Bay Chapel Food Pantry runs as a drive-through distribution. Pull up in your car and volunteers will help load your food. Bring your own bags if you have them, or they'll give you a box.
Ways to Give
You can donate food items by dropping them off at the pantry during its extended drop-off window on Saturdays from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM. When you arrive, let the parking team know you're donating food and they'll point you in the right direction. Accepted donations include all non-perishable items, canned goods, and dry goods that are not expired. The pantry cannot accept fresh produce, meats, refrigerated items, or any expired foods. You can also make a one-time or recurring financial donation on the pantry's website.
How to Join the Team?
Volunteers are welcome every Saturday morning. Plan to arrive by 8:00 AM (no later than 8:20 AM). The pantry is at 19911 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33647, on the property of Tampa Bay Presbyterian Church. When you arrive, check in with Michele, Beth, or Rob — they'll be wearing green t-shirts. You'll get your volunteer assignment at check-in.
If you're bringing a group of more than five people, please reach out in advance at info@baychapelfoodpantry.org or BCFPTpa@gmail.com to schedule your visit. Groups are especially appreciated during the summer months (June through August) when extra hands are most needed.
Children under 14 are welcome to volunteer but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian the entire time. The volunteer coordinators can sign school forms to confirm your hours. If you need official documentation on pantry letterhead, keep track of your hours and then email your request to info@baychapelfoodpantry.org or BCFPTpa@gmail.com. Processing may take up to 5 business days.
