Who Can Visit?
Faith Cafe is open to anyone who is hungry, whether homeless or simply unable to afford food. There's no income test or ID requirement. The only requirement is that guests sign in upon entering the cafe. Lunch is served Monday through Saturday starting at 11:30 am, and Sunday dinner begins at 5:00 pm.
Items Needed for Registration
You just need to sign in when you arrive. No ID, proof of income, or paperwork is required.
Good to Know
Guests are seated and the meal is brought to them, just like a restaurant. Staff and volunteers are committed to treating every guest with dignity and respect. Faith Cafe serves roughly 80 meals each day and is open 365 days a year.
Food & Essentials
A hot meal is served daily, including items like rice, meat, mixed vegetables, and bread. Dessert is offered after the meal. Faith Cafe also runs the "Angel Closet," where clean, lightly used clothing, blankets, and hygiene items like toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, and deodorant are available free of charge on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
How to Pick Up
Walk in during meal hours. Guests are asked to line up no earlier than 11:00 am on weekdays and Saturdays. Lunch is served from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, and guests are asked to leave by 1:00 pm. Sunday dinner runs from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Facilities
Shower facilities are available on-site on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Soap, shampoo, and towels are provided. A monthly off-site laundry service is also offered on the fourth Friday and second Saturday of each month.
Ways to Give
Faith Cafe welcomes donations of food (canned goods are always needed), clean used clothing, and hygiene items. You can drop off Angel Closet donations during normal business hours or contact the Angel Closet Coordinator by phone or text at (813) 503-0131. Monetary donations can be made online or by mailing a check payable to South Tampa Ecumenical Ministries/Faith Cafe, ATTN: Greg Jones, 1340 North Clearview Avenue, Tampa, FL 33607.
How to Join the Team?
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Those aged 13 to 15 may serve with a parent or guardian, and no one under 13 may volunteer. Download the Volunteer Information Packet from the Faith Cafe website, then select a slot online through the automated sign-up. Contact volunteer@faithcafetampa.org or call (813) 877-6889 with questions. Court-ordered community service volunteers should also reach out by email first.
