Nebraska is open to anyone who needs a free meal. No registration, no ID, and no questions asked. You can simply walk in and take a seat.
Who Can Visit?
Homeless Helping Homeless (HHH) is open to both residents and non-residents. Most of their free services are available to anyone in need, not just people staying in their housing programs.
Good to Know
HHH is not a food pantry. They provide food only when donations are available, so food is not guaranteed on any given visit. Call ahead at (813) 415-3586 before visiting to check availability.
Food & Essentials
When donations allow, HHH distributes food to both residents and non-residents at no cost. They also offer hygiene kits when available, and gently used clothing and shoes.
Additional Support
HHH offers a wide range of free services to residents and non-residents alike, including:
- Free showers
- Storage for belongings (short-term)
- Wi-Fi and phone access
- Computer stations (two available)
- Free photocopies
- Help obtaining birth certificates and bus passes (when funds are available)
- Referrals to a wide range of services in Hillsborough County, including homeless services that are otherwise hard to access
HHH residents can also receive a referral to apply for free college tuition.
Facilities
Free showers are available on-site. HHH is the only emergency housing agency in the area that offers free showers to people who are not residents.
Ways to Give
You can donate money online through PayPal. Donations of gently used clothing, shoes, food, and hygiene items are also welcomed and go directly to people in need.
How to Join the Team?
HHH welcomes volunteers in a number of roles, including part-time office secretary, grant writer, phone operator, homeless outreach, handyman, and dispatcher. Some roles can be done remotely. To apply, visit the volunteer opportunities page and fill out the online form.
