Seeds of Hope Food Pantry is open to community members in need. Pre-registration is required each week to receive a box of food.
Who Can Visit?
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Stephen Catholic Church serves everyone regardless of creed, color, or national origin. Walk-in visitors are welcome on Fridays. The pantry has assisted over 8,000 people in a single year and currently serves 40 to 50 families (more than 100 people) each week.

Please bring proof of residency and Social Security cards for each family member when you visit.

The pantry strives to maintain the privacy and dignity of everyone it serves. Recipients must live within the service area to receive financial assistance, though food distribution is open to all in need.
How to Pick Up
Food is distributed every Friday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Enter through the Family Life Center at 10118 St. Stephen Cir, Riverview, FL 33569. Volunteers carry boxes of food to the cars of those they serve.
Additional Support
Beyond food, the pantry may also offer financial help for rent, utilities, or other living expenses. To request financial assistance, call 813-325-6440 and leave a message. Calls are returned within one or two days. For emergencies, call the county help line at 211. A volunteer may visit your home if you meet the guidelines.
Ways to Give
100% of donations go back to the community. You can give in several ways:
- Financial donations: Online giving is available through the parish website.
- Vehicle donation: Call 1-800-322-8284 to donate a vehicle. It will be picked up within 24 hours on a weekday.
- Furniture and household items: The St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Ruskin, FL accepts clean clothing and household items. Call 813-645-5255 to schedule a pickup if you live in East or South Hillsborough County. Please don't drop off items at the church.
How to Join the Team?
Volunteers are welcome and can participate as often as once a week or as rarely as once a year. Volunteer roles include:
- Home visits or interviews at the church
- Sorting and distributing holiday food and gifts
- Weekly or bi-weekly pickup and shelving of donated items at St. Stephen Catholic School, area stores, or warehouses
- Carrying boxes of food to the cars of those served one or two Fridays a month
- Secretarial and financial support at the district level
Students under 18 must be accompanied by a parent. Students are welcome to volunteer to fulfill service hour requirements. To get involved, reach out through the parish website.
