Items Needed for Registration
On your first visit, please bring two pieces of ID showing your name and current address (such as mail, bills, or a driver's license). You'll also need to bring an ID for every person in your household, such as a Social Security card, medical card, birth certificate, or school ID.
Good to Know
If it's your first visit, plan to arrive no later than 11:30 a.m. It takes a few minutes to get you set up in the system, and volunteers like to wrap up by noon. The pantry is closed on all major holidays. If there's bad weather, call the office at (859) 261-3649 for a recorded message about any closure.
Food & Essentials
Action Ministries provides food and household grocery items to over 1,000 families each month. Volunteers fill bags with groceries and stock shelves in the warehouse with donated food.
How to Pick Up
Volunteers welcome you at the front desk, interview you to assess your needs, and then fill your bags with groceries. The pantry serves clients in person at their warehouse and office facility.
Additional Support
Action Ministries also runs a "Food for Thought" program during the school year. Through Family Resource Coordinators in Kenton County Schools, the pantry provides weekend food packages to children who may not have enough to eat at home. These bags are made available without any questions or requirements.
Ways to Give
You can support Action Ministries by donating through Kroger Community Rewards. The organization also accepts donated food items. For more information, visit the Action Ministries website.
How to Join the Team?
Action Ministries is run entirely by volunteers. There are many ways to help, including welcoming clients at the front desk, filling bags with groceries, sorting donated food, stocking shelves, packaging bulk products, and driving the truck for food pickups. To learn about volunteer opportunities, call (859) 261-3649.
