How to Pick Up
The Erlanger location at 2655 Crescent Springs Road is a choice pantry. That means you can walk the shelves and pick the items your family needs, just like shopping at a store. This approach is designed to support special dietary needs and give every visitor dignity and real choices. The food pantry is located inside the thrift store, so when you arrive, proceed through the half-door entrance.
Food & Essentials
The pantry stocks a wide range of non-perishable food, fresh produce, and dairy items. Specific items often available include all types of pasta (rice, noodles, spaghetti, macaroni), peanut butter, jelly, condiments like ketchup, mustard, bbq sauce and ranch, canned proteins such as tuna and chicken, cereal, "meals-in-a-can" like ravioli and beef stew, canned fruit, canned soups and chili, pancake mix, popcorn packs, oatmeal packs, jarred and canned pasta sauce, sugar, and flour.
The pantry also distributes hygiene essentials including soap, shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste and toothbrushes, razors, feminine hygiene products, deodorant, shaving cream, paper towels, and toilet tissue. Baby supplies such as diapers (especially sizes 4 and 5), training pull-ups, baby wipes, and baby bath supplies are also available. Household cleaning items like all-purpose cleaners, disinfectant wipes, dish soap, and laundry detergent may be included as well.
Additional Support
Beyond food, St. Vincent de Paul NKY can help with a range of other needs. You can call the help line for assistance with rent and utility bills, clothing, housewares, and furniture vouchers redeemable at thrift stores, beds for children under 16 or disabled and senior individuals aged 65 and older, medical equipment, fans and air conditioners for documented medical conditions, and winter coats. Holiday assistance is also available for those who need seasonal support.
For help finding housing, they connect neighbors with partner agencies that specialize in housing solutions. A microloan program is also available. To ask about any of these services, call the help line at (859) 341-3219 Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Birthday kits filled with celebration supplies are distributed through the food pantry as well.
Facilities
The food pantry is located inside the thrift store at the Erlanger location. The thrift store sells gently used clothing, shoes, dishes, housewares, and furniture at low cost.
Ways to Give
The pantry is especially in need of non-perishable food, personal care items, and household essentials. You can drop off donations directly at the Erlanger location at 2655 Crescent Springs Pike. You can also donate online or purchase high-need items from their Amazon Wish List, which ships directly to the pantry. To give money online, visit the donation page. If you'd like to organize a food or hygiene drive with your school, business, parish, or community group, register here. For questions about donating, email svdpprograms@svdpnky.org.
How to Join the Team?
Volunteers are welcome starting at age 6. St. Vincent de Paul NKY does not accept walk-in volunteers, so you'll need to sign up in advance. There are three types of volunteer forms depending on your situation: a traditional volunteer form for those committing to a regular schedule, a community service form for school or program-required hours, and a special event form for seasonal or one-time events. After submitting your form, Volunteer Services will review it and send you an email. If you're placed, you'll complete a short online orientation before signing up for shifts. Groups of up to 10 can also volunteer together by contacting volunteer@svdpnky.org or calling 859-426-2649. Volunteers under 18 must have a signed Volunteer Agreement from a parent or guardian.
