Who Can Visit?

The Catholic Action Center welcomes anyone experiencing homelessness or hardship. Meals are open to the broader community as well, and many local residents come to share a meal together with guests.

Food & Essentials

The center serves meals through its food ministries, including a regular meal program and a Sandwich Ministry. Snacks are also available throughout the day. Special holiday meals are provided on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine's Day, and guests are invited to a community New Year's celebration where food and clothing are also provided.

How to Pick Up

Meals are served on-site at the center. You can check the current schedule on the Food Ministries page.

Additional Support

Beyond meals, the Catholic Action Center operates as a day center where guests can take a nap, store their belongings, and use public computers. Staff offer guidance to help people get back on their feet, and there are employment and job training resources right next door. A public health clinic with counseling services is located in the same building, and a pharmacy is within walking distance. Overnight shelter beds are also available for guests who take on a weekly chore.

Facilities

Guests can shower every day at the center.

Ways to Give

You can make a secure donation through PayPal on the website, or mail a donation to P.O. Box #324, Lexington, KY 40588. You can also shop their Amazon Wish List or email to ask about current food needs. Current in-kind needs include cleaning supplies, coffee, creamer, and juice. Clothing and household items are not being accepted at this time.

How to Join the Team?

Volunteers are welcome to help serve meals or assist with the Sandwich Ministry. Sign-up links are available on the Food Ministries page. You can also reach out by email at caclex2000@gmail.com for current volunteer opportunities.
