Who Can Visit?

The Northland Food Pantry is open to residents of Clay and Platte Counties only. You can reach them at 816-454-5295.

How Often You Can Visit?

You can visit the food pantry once every 30 days.

Good to Know

The staff is known for being very efficient. Visitors are typically in and out in less than 15 minutes and receive a good variety of food. Fresh fruit is available on Fridays. The pantry is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and again from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Food & Essentials

The pantry provides a good variety of food, including fresh fruit. Produce is also distributed through MLM's Urban Orchard and community gardens. The pantry gratefully accepts food and hygiene item donations, so hygiene items may also be available.

Additional Support

The Northland location also offers Rent and Utility Assistance for residents of Clay and Platte Counties who need help with rent or utility bills. Please note that if you have received assistance in the last 12 months, you should not apply again.

Metro Lutheran Ministry also runs a Senior Commodity Box Program in partnership with Harvesters for seniors 60 years or older. Boxes are distributed once a month at the Northland location. The Financial Opportunity Center (FOC) is a career and financial coaching service that helps low- to moderate-income people. Services include help with job searches, resume building, employment coaching, access to computers and printing, help getting work clothes or certifications, bus passes for job interviews, assistance for people re-entering the community after incarceration, and financial counseling. Ways to Give

MLM gratefully accepts food and hygiene items at the Northland food pantry location. For questions about pantry donations, contact Kimberlye Bernard, Community Assistance Manager, at 816-285-3122. You can also donate online at mlmkc.org/donate-new/. Other ways to give include stock donations, vehicle donations (cars, motorcycles, RVs, and boats are all welcome), Thrivent Financial Choice dollars, and in-kind donations. For stock or asset donations, contact Becky Poitras, VP/Executive Director, at 816-285-3149.

How to Join the Team?
