Affton Christian Food Pantry
Who Can Visit?
Affton Christian Food Pantry serves anyone living in the 63123 zip code. If you live outside that area, you can still visit if you have a referral from one of the pantry's member churches. The pantry does not seek to be exclusive — this system is in place to ensure fairness for those in need throughout the St. Louis area.
All visits are by appointment only. Call (314) 580-3138 to schedule your time. Emergency aid is also available — just call the same number if you need immediate help.
How to Register?
Call (314) 580-3138 to schedule your first appointment. When you arrive for the first time, staff will walk you through the membership application process.
Items Needed for Registration
When you come for the first time, please bring:
- A driver's license with your current address, or other proof of residency (such as a utility bill or passport)
You're also strongly encouraged to bring these items, as they help make sure you receive the maximum amount of aid you qualify for:
- A paycheck stub
- Food stamp forms or paperwork (if applicable)
- Contact information for any social service agency you're currently working with
- Medicare or Medicaid documents (if applicable)
Good to Know
Reviewers say the pantry has a good selection to choose from, and larger families can expect to fill a whole cart. If you live just outside the 63123 zip code and don't have a member church referral, it's a good idea to call ahead to confirm whether the pantry can help before making the trip.
Food & Essentials
The pantry stocks a wide variety of groceries and personal care items. High-demand food items include entrees like chicken and dumplings, tuna, and beef stew, along with meal supplements such as Hamburger Helper, rice sides, potato sides, and pasta sides. Breakfast staples like cereal, oatmeal, and eggs are available, and lunch items like peanut butter are also on hand. Families can find meat and vegetables to put complete meals on the table.
Non-food items like toilet paper and laundry detergent are among the most regularly requested personal care items the pantry carries.
How to Pick Up
Affton Christian Food Pantry is a client-choice pantry — you shop for yourself and pick your own items, similar to shopping in a small grocery store. Reviewers confirm that visitors with larger families can fill up a whole cart of food.

How to Join the Team?
Volunteers are the heart of the Affton Christian Food Pantry. Current openings include Saturday cleaning crews, client shift interviewers, van drivers, shift leaders, stockers, pantry processors, marketing and social media helpers, and fundraising and event planners.
Walk-in volunteering isn't possible during pantry hours since all volunteers need to complete an orientation and training session first. To get started, fill out the Volunteer Interest Form online, or pick up a blank form at the reception desk during pantry hours. All volunteers also need to complete a Volunteer Waiver, which you can receive at the pantry or print at home.
For questions, call the pantry directly or reach the team through the contact page.
