Food & Essentials
VICRC provides food for a three-day supply per household member. Members can also find clothing and household items on the other side of the building, including items for kids. Reviewers note there is a wide selection available, especially on pick-up choice days.
How to Pick Up
Members can choose their own items on Mondays and Fridays. On other open days, staff prepare pre-made bags to hand out. Many visitors recommend arriving early — sometimes two to three hours before opening — because lines form well before doors open.
Additional Support
VICRC offers more than just food and clothing. Additional services include:
- Direct financial aid
- Resource referrals to connect people with other community services
- Victim advocacy and crisis prevention
- Valley Dash delivery program — Fresh food is delivered weekly to elderly, homebound, or transportation-limited community members. Call for details or special delivery requests, or email jgillette@vicrc.org.
Seasonal programs are offered throughout the year when resources are especially stretched. These include:
- Thanksgiving Food Basket – Distributed the Saturday before Thanksgiving, 10 AM – 1 PM. No sign-up needed. Members receive a holiday food box with Thanksgiving dinner items and pantry staples.
- Holiday Sharing Program – Held during the last week before the holiday break. Includes gift cards (while supplies last), holiday food staples, and a limited number of toys.
- Back to School Preparations – School supplies support for students. Schools interested in participating can contact zhuxell@vicrc.org.
For seasonal program details, contact info@vicrc.org, as eligibility and availability can change.
