OU Food Pantry
Who Can Visit?
The OU Food Pantry is open to all current OU students, faculty, and staff. You don't need to meet any income requirement — if you have a valid OU ID, you're welcome to come.
You'll need to place an online order before you pick up your food. Here's how it works:
How to Order?
Step 1: Join the pantry's ENGAGE page.
Step 2: Fill out the online shopping form before 12:00 PM on Monday. Late orders are still accepted, but try to get yours in early.
Step 3: Pick up your order during hours of operation at 331 Cate Center Drive.
Items Needed for Registration
Bring a valid OU ID when you arrive. Mobile ID is accepted.
Food & Essentials
The pantry offers free supplemental groceries to help stretch your food budget. The items most needed by donors (and commonly available) include canned fruits, canned proteins like tuna and chicken, pastas, peanut butter, jelly, snack items such as breakfast bars, Pop-Tarts, and chips, and K-cups for coffee machines. The pantry also runs a Fresh Produce Station to provide fresh items beyond what's donated.
The pantry accepts drop-off donations of non-perishable food, toiletries, and books, which means personal care items may also be available from time to time.
How to Pick Up
The OU Food Pantry uses an online pre-order model. You fill out a shopping form before Monday at noon, then come during open hours to pick up your prepared order at 331 Cate Center Drive.
Additional Support
The pantry's Pantry Eats video series shares cooking demonstrations and tips using pantry staples, including recipes like egg drop soup, lentil soup, spicy oil ramen, and more.
The pantry also links visitors to a range of on-campus and local resources, including the OU Counseling Center, Goddard Health Center, the OU MidFirst Bank MoneyCoach Program for financial coaching, and the OU Women's Health Advocacy group.
Ways to Give
The OU Food Pantry runs entirely on donations and receives no funding from the university. You can help in several ways:
- Make a tax-deductible online donation through the OU Foundation.
- Shop the Amazon Wish List for specific needed items.
- Host a food drive for your organization or department.
- Drop off non-perishable food, toiletries, books, or new/gently used clothing during hours of operation, or email OUpantry@ou.edu to schedule a drop-off. Donation bins are also in the lobbies of Cross A, B, C, and D.
Please don't bring food that's expired, broken, or dented.
How to Join the Team?
The OU Food Pantry is student-run, and both students and faculty/staff are welcome to volunteer. Volunteering involves helping clients, stocking shelves, organizing orders, cleaning, and other tasks.
- Individual volunteers: Sign up through the Canvas page, which also includes volunteer training materials.
- Group volunteers: Fill out the group volunteer form.
