OKC Dream Center
Who Can Visit?
OKC Dream Center's food pantry is open to families in need. There are two ways to get food: the weekly DC Emergency Food Pantry (walk-in, no advance sign-up needed) and the monthly Saturday Drive-Thru/Walk-Up distribution (advance registration required each month).
How to Register for the Saturday Distribution?
Registration for the Saturday distribution opens on the Monday before that month's distribution and stays open until all spots are full or by the Thursday before distribution day. The registration link is posted monthly on the OKC Dream Center Facebook page. Check there each month for the latest link, updates, and any changes.
Items Needed for Registration
All shoppers must bring a valid ID and proof of household members at every visit before shopping. Accepted forms of ID include:
- Driver's license
- State-issued ID
- Social Security card
- Work or school ID
- Passport or passport card
How Often You Can Visit?
Shoppers can visit once per month, whether through the weekly emergency pantry or the monthly Saturday distribution.
Good to Know
The weekly Emergency Food Pantry accepts the first 15 people per day, so arriving early is important. Shoppers also need to complete the Link 2 Feed intake form at each visit before shopping. Note that the DC Pantry is closed the entire week before the monthly Saturday distribution.
Food & Essentials
The pantry provides healthy perishable and nonperishable groceries as well as basic hygiene items (when available) to families in need. The pantry also distributes pet treats at some distribution events.
How to Pick Up
The weekly Emergency Food Pantry is a self-select (client-choice) model where shoppers browse and pick their own items. The monthly Saturday event is held as a Drive-Thru or Walk-Up distribution.
Additional Support
OKC Dream Center offers several programs beyond food:
- DC Threads Clothing Closet: A thrift store-style clothing closet where shoppers can select clothing items for their family. Open Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am–3pm (last shopper taken at 2:30pm), with special Saturday hours once a month. Shoppers may use the clothing closet up to twice per month.
- DC Kids: Preventative and youth programs for at-risk kids and youth.
- DC Living: A sober-living transitional program for men.
- Community Resource Center: Connections and referrals to other services.
- Adopt-A-Block Outreach: Volunteers serve the surrounding neighborhood through community cleanup and relationship-building activities.
Ways to Give
The pantry accepts both monetary and physical donations to keep shelves stocked. Physical donations of unexpired, non-perishable items are welcome. Donations are accepted on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am–3pm.
For questions about specific and current needs, call (405) 634-2615 or email hungerhelp@dcokc.org. You can also donate online at dcokc.breezechms.com/give/online or start a Facebook fundraiser to raise support for the Dream Center.
How to Join the Team?
Volunteers are a vital part of OKC Dream Center's mission. They help stock shelves, assist shoppers, help load groceries into cars, receive and sort clothing donations, and support community outreach activities. Schools, churches, youth groups, and individuals needing community service hours are all welcome.
