Who Can Visit?
The Mid-South Food Bank is a regional food distribution hub that serves families, children, and seniors across 31 counties in west Tennessee, northern Mississippi, and eastern Arkansas. Food isn't handed out directly at this address. Instead, the food bank reaches people through its Mobile Pantry program, which travels to neighborhoods throughout the region each week. Items Needed for Registration
When you arrive at a Mobile Pantry event, you'll fill out a short form on the spot. Have this ready:
- Your name
- The number of people in your household
- Your county, state, and ZIP code
- Whether anyone in your home participates in a program like SNAP, Families First, SSI, LIHEAP, or lives in public housing
Food & Essentials
The food bank distributes nutritious food including fresh produce, frozen and refrigerated items, bread, and non-perishable shelf-stable groceries. Reviewers have mentioned receiving items like chicken, fish, fresh vegetables, fruit, and bread at Mobile Pantry distributions.
How to Pick Up
Mobile Pantry distributions use a drive-thru setup with refrigerated vehicles, so you can receive food without leaving your car. Ways to Give
You can drop off food donations without an appointment at the main office at 3865 S. Perkins, Memphis, TN 38118, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For truckload donations, call 901-527-0841 before coming. Satellite drop-off locations throughout Shelby County are listed at midsouthfoodbank.org/give-food.
To give money, donate online at midsouthfoodbank.org/donate, or text HUNGER2HOPE to 26989. You can also mail a check to Mid-South Food Bank, Development Department, 3865 S. Perkins Rd., Memphis, TN 38118, or call Donor Relations at 901-373-0412. The food bank participates in Kroger Community Rewards, so linking your Kroger Plus Card lets a percentage of your grocery purchases go directly to MSFB at no cost to you.
How to Join the Team?
Volunteers are the heart of the organization. Opportunities include packing boxes for partner agencies, re-packing bulk items, helping in the Agency Mart, and working special events and food drives. All opportunities are posted at VOMO. Volunteers must be at least 10 years old; those under 15 need to be accompanied by someone at least 15.
