Harvest Blessings Food Pantry
Who Can Visit?
Harvest Blessings Food Pantry is open to anyone in need of food in the Austin area. The pantry serves people from every walk of life who are experiencing food insecurity, and there's no income screening required. All you have to do is register for an appointment time on the website or mobile app before you come. Registration is free and open to all.
If you don't have a car and are experiencing homelessness or using public transportation, you can come as a walk-up patron. Each distribution day has a limited number of walk-up spots, and these are served on a first-come, first-served basis.
How to Register?
You can register for an appointment at riverbendurbanministries.churchcenter.com/registrations. Appointments are available one week in advance, and registration opens at 10:00 AM on Mondays and Fridays for the South Austin location. There are 350 appointment slots for each distribution day, and they fill up quickly, often within hours of opening. It helps to be ready to sign up as soon as registration opens. You can also reach the team at (512) 327-3540 or missions@riverbend.com if you need help.
How Often You Can Visit?
You're welcome to sign up as often as you need. There's no limit to how many times you can register for the pantry. You can sign up for any available distribution day whenever you'd like.
Good to Know
Each distribution period has 350 appointment slots, and they fill up within hours of opening, so it's best to sign up as early as possible when registration opens. When you make an appointment, you'll be assigned a 15-minute time slot and you'll need to arrive during that window. If you arrive early, the team won't be able to serve you until your scheduled time. If you can't make it, please cancel your appointment so another family can take your spot.
For walk-up patrons who are homeless or using public transportation, spots are limited and served on a first-come, first-served basis.
Food & Essentials
Harvest Blessings provides a variety of fresh, high-quality food at no cost to patrons. You can expect an assortment of fruits, vegetables, protein, dairy, bakery items, and non-perishables. Food is sourced through a food rescue operation and a long-term partnership with the Central Texas Food Bank.
At the South Austin location on Wednesdays (East Austin location), Baby Blessings also distributes diapers, feminine products, and baby wipes alongside the food. Diapers range from newborn through kids size 1-6 and pull-ups 2T-5T. A variety of other baby items like car seats, strollers, cribs, baby toys, and clothes are sometimes available as well.
How to Pick Up
Food is distributed as a drive-through service. Volunteers load food directly into your car. Walk-up patrons are also welcomed but are served separately and after the drive-through line.
Additional Support
Beyond food, the Austin Blessings Co-op network offers classes and counseling for marriage, finances, career training, and addiction recovery. You can also find prayer support at pantry events. If you'd like emotional or spiritual support, representatives are always on-site during distribution hours to help.
The "Blessings Delivered" ministry delivers fresh groceries directly to people's homes who are unable to travel, focusing on people with disabilities and those experiencing homelessness.
Ways to Give
You can make a financial donation at ppay.co/fFmwAl5bOjA. The pantry also accepts in-kind donations of non-perishable food items, which can be dropped off during distribution hours. Clothing, shoes, diapers, baby wipes, car seats, strollers, and gently used baby products are also accepted and can be dropped off at the donation bins at Riverbend Church, located at 4214 N Capital of TX Hwy.
How to Join the Team?
Harvest Blessings Food Pantry relies on volunteers five days a week. Volunteer roles include food bagging and assembly, drive-through food distribution, walk-up food distribution, patron check-in, traffic control, prayer support, and connecting with patrons. Spanish-speaking volunteers are especially welcome. Families are encouraged to serve together.
You can sign up through the Volunteer Portal at austinblessings.org/volunteer. Whether you have one afternoon a month or many hours each week, the team would love to have you.
