Who Can Visit?
Everyone is welcome at the South Austin Church Food Pantry. There's no appointment needed, and you don't have to be a church member. Just drive up during pantry hours and they'll take care of you.
Good to Know
The pantry runs every Monday from 9 to 11am at 6711 Menchaca Road, Austin, TX 78745. It's a drive-through only pantry, so you stay in your car the whole time. When you arrive, enter from Barge Street using the second driveway on the right, just past the playground. Then follow the path around to the main entrance and stop at the covered double doors. The church describes itself as an equal opportunity provider.
The church office is open Monday through Thursday from 9am to 4pm. You can reach them by phone at 512-442-8476.
How to Pick Up
It's all done from your car. Enter from Barge Street, take the second driveway on the right (just past the playground), and continue around to the main entrance. Stop at the covered double doors and stay in your vehicle. Volunteers will help you from there.
Ways to Give
There are several ways to support the food pantry:
- Donate food items. The best time to drop off food is Tuesday through Thursday, 9am to 4pm. You can also drop food anytime at the covered entrance that faces north.
- Donate grocery store gift cards.
- Organize a food drive.
- Volunteer to unload deliveries or help distribute food.
- Donate funds to help purchase healthy food at a reduced rate through their partner, the Central Texas Food Bank. You can give online at southaustinchurch.churchcenter.com/giving/to/food-pantry.
- Give by check. Make it payable to South Austin Church and mail it to 6711 Menchaca Road, Austin, TX 78745.
- ACH bank transfer or debit card through their secure online giving portal.
