Who Can Visit?

Trinity Center Austin serves people who are unhoused or experiencing homelessness. The center is open to all neighbors in need, regardless of gender, race, sexual identity, or orientation. Monday is a women-only day, meaning only women or people who identify as women may come in that day.

Good to Know

Trinity Center is open six days a week, Sunday through Friday. On weekdays, breakfast is served from 9 to 9:30 a.m., and the center is open for services Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Some services are first-come, first-served with limited spots. On Mondays, the list for direct assistance is taken outside at 8:30 a.m. and is limited to 10 people. Shower services are available for 10 to 12 people per day. Men's clothing closet on Fridays serves 20 to 25 men.

The center no longer provides rental or utility assistance (effective October 2021).

Food and Essentials

Breakfast is served every weekday from 9 to 9:30 a.m. On Sundays, a meal is served at 3:30 p.m. following a worship service. During holidays, Trinity Center goes above and beyond to serve Thanksgiving and Christmas meals so that no one misses a great holiday meal. Non-perishable snacks are also part of their wishlist for donation.

Free clothing is available at no cost. Women's clothing closet is open Mondays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Men's clothing closet is open Fridays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Towels, clothes, and underwear are provided at shower appointments.

How to Pick Up

Clothing closets are first-come, first-served. Guests browse and pick their own items for free. Showers are also first-come, first-served during the posted hours.

Additional Support

Trinity Center offers a wide range of support services for people experiencing homelessness.

Identification and Documents: Staff can help with getting IDs, birth certificates, and food handler's licenses. This direct assistance is available on Mondays (women only), Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Sign up outside at 8:30 a.m. Financial help is limited and aimed at helping neighbors achieve stability.

SNAP Assistance: A Food Bank representative is on-site Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help with SNAP applications.

Bus Passes: Up to 15 local bus cards are handed out daily to qualifying guests during hours of operation. Long-distance Greyhound bus passes are also available upon request for individuals looking to reunite with relatives or friends in other cities. The telephone number of the relative or friend must be provided to verify housing.

Prescription Assistance: Available every day upon request.

Case Management: Trinity Center offers case management programs to help individuals work toward getting housed.

Showers: Women's showers are available Mondays from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. through St. Mark's Women's Shower Ministry (first-come, first-served for 12 people). Men's showers are available Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. through TUMC's Men's Shower Ministry.

SAFE Outreach: Available bi-weekly on Mondays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

MAP Outreach: Available Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Computer Access: Computers are available for guest use.

Sunday Worship: A worship service is held every Sunday at 3 p.m., followed by a meal at 3:30 p.m. Doors open at 2:50 p.m. and close at 4:30 p.m.

Trinity Center welcomes donations in many forms.

Money: You can donate online using their secure Shelby form. Monthly contributions are especially helpful to avoid seasonal shortfalls. You can also mail a check payable to "Trinity Center" to: Trinity Center, 301 E 8th St, Austin, TX 78701. All donations are tax-deductible.

Donate Resources: Needed items include travel-size toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, body lotion, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, feminine hygiene products, sunscreen), Kleenex, hand sanitizer, stamps, bus passes, non-perishable snacks, personal calendars, and inspirational books or magazines. Gently used men's and women's clothing is also welcome, including jeans, shorts, shoes, socks, bras, and backpacks. Items can be dropped off at Trinity Center during regular hours or in the red barrels in the St. David's Church lobby.
