How Often You Can Visit?
You're welcome to visit once a week to pick up food.
Good to Know
The pantry is run entirely by volunteers. One visitor shared that the food they received was not expired. The pantry also makes an effort to respect visitors' food restrictions based on cultural heritage and religious beliefs.
Food & Essentials
The pantry provides food items including milk, eggs, protein, and fresh produce. Visitors have also received items like beans, apples, bread, and meat. The pantry also distributes diapers for families with young children.
How to Pick Up
When you arrive, you'll check in with a volunteer at the front. Volunteers will help place your family's food items into a shopping cart for you. The pantry prepares food boxes and sorts produce before each distribution.
Additional Support
The pantry offers referral help for neighbors who need assistance with rent, medical or dental care, legal and immigration matters, education, and employment. You can find links to a number of local agencies on their referrals page at vickerymeadowna.org/need-referrals/. Please note that the pantry does not give money or vouchers directly.
The pantry also shares the same location as St. Katharine Drexel Community Closet, which offers free clothing and small household items to neighbors in the same zip codes (75231, 75230, 75243, and 75238). The closet is open Wednesdays 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM, Thursdays 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and Saturdays 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Neighbors are welcome to shop there once every three months.
Ways to Give
You can help the pantry supply neighbors with milk, eggs, and protein by making a one-time or monthly donation. The pantry accepts donations of flour, sugar, vegetable oil, and coffee. Please note they do not accept canned food donations. To give online, visit vickerymeadowna.org/give/. If you prefer to write a check, make it out to Vickery Meadow Neighborhood Alliance and mail it to P.O. Box 670813 Dallas, TX 75367. For questions, email VickeryMeadowNA@gmail.com.
