Who Can Visit?

The Caring Center is open to residents of Montgomery, Elmore, and Lowndes Counties. To receive food, you'll need to call ahead and schedule an appointment before coming in. A photo ID is required to access the facility.

How to Register?

Call the food line at (334) 241-5144 anytime and leave your name and phone number slowly and clearly. Someone will call you back with available appointment options.

Items Needed for Registration

Bring a valid photo ID when you visit.

Good to Know

If you need help with a utility bill or other financial assistance, call (334) 262-2273 on Mondays between 8:30 AM and 9:15 AM. Keep trying throughout that window. If no one answers by 9:15 AM, appointments for the week are full and you can try again the following Monday.

Food & Essentials

The Caring Center distributes groceries and pantry goods to neighbors in need. They also give away clothing, shoes, and bed and bath linens at no charge, along with a limited number of smaller household items. Donated items are never sold but are given freely to those in need.

How to Pick Up

Food is distributed by appointment only. After calling the food line to schedule, come in during your appointment time to pick up your groceries. Clothing and other items are available on a walk-in basis during regular business hours.

Additional Support

The Caring Center offers financial assistance to help people stay in their homes and keep their utilities on. To request help, call (334) 262-2273 on Mondays between 8:30 AM and 9:15 AM.

A Bible study meets every Tuesday at 12:15 PM with a snack lunch provided.

Ways to Give

The Caring Center welcomes donations of clothing, shoes, bed and bath linens, diapers, and pantry goods, as well as smaller household items (nothing larger than a microwave). Drop off donations Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Furniture donations aren't accepted, but if you have a piece to give away, call (334) 264-6416 and the team may be able to connect you with someone who needs it.

To make a financial gift, visit the donation website and select "Community Ministries" in the fund dropdown.

How to Join the Team?

Volunteers help with tasks like sorting clothes, scheduling food appointments, and bringing out groceries. You can also serve as a prayer partner or bring donations to the center. To get started, fill out the interest form at fbccommunityministries.org/volunteer or reach out at communityministries@fbc-cm.org or (334) 264-6416.
