Who Can Visit?

The Caritas Food Pantry serves people in Sarasota who don't have cooking facilities. If you have a place to cook at home, the pantry is intended for those without that option, so it may not be the right fit for every visitor.

Good to Know

A reviewer mentions you'll want to arrive at the Herrig Caritas Center around 10 a.m. to get a food voucher before heading to the pantry window at 11 a.m. The food distributed is enough to last a few days.

Additional Support

Beyond food, the Herrig Caritas Center helps Sarasota residents with utility payments, transportation, prescription costs, and work attire. The center serves thousands of people per year who are in acute financial need. It's a joint effort of four downtown churches: First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, St. Martha Catholic Church, and First United Methodist Church.
