Who Can Visit?

The food pantry at Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House is open to any individual or family who needs food. There are no income requirements or residency restrictions. Even if you'd prefer not to share your name or address, you're still welcome to come in and receive food.

Items Needed for Registration

On your first visit, if you'd like to be signed up and receive a membership card, bring:

  • Something with your name on it, like an ID, library card, or insurance card
  • Something showing your address from the past 3 months, like a piece of mail or a bill

If you'd rather not share this information, that's perfectly fine. You can still receive food.

How Often You Can Visit?

You can visit up to three times per month.

Good to Know

One reviewer notes that the pantry receives very good quality food donations. Friendly volunteers are on hand throughout each session to help you navigate the shelves and answer questions.

Food & Essentials

The pantry offers a wide variety of nutritious groceries, including fresh fruits and vegetables, bread and baked goods, rice, beans, pasta, cereal, and canned goods. Frozen meat and fish are also available. Hygiene products are distributed as well. New clothing is available for families in need, with warm winter clothing especially available during the holiday season.

How to Pick Up

The pantry is set up like a supermarket so you can walk through the shelves and choose the groceries that work best for you and your family. Friendly volunteers are there to guide you and answer any questions.

Additional Support

The Community Engagement program, available Tuesday through Saturday, provides personalized one-on-one support along with workshops on computer literacy, financial literacy, job readiness, and health and wellness. Staff can also help with housing stability, eviction prevention, access to benefits and social services, technology assistance, navigating legal issues, and conflict mediation. Computers are available on-site for visitors to use.

Ways to Give

Donations of food, hygiene items, money, gift cards, and new clothing are always welcome. You can donate online or mail and drop off donations in person at 71 Cherry St., Cambridge, MA 02139.
