Who Can Visit?
Hope City KC is a community center in one of Kansas City's most under-resourced neighborhoods. The food pantry and soup kitchen are open to anyone in need. No specific eligibility requirements were listed on the website, and the pantry welcomes all community members who need food help.
Food & Essentials
Hope City KC gives away food through a weekly pantry and a daily lunch program. According to community members, Hope City provides a great pantry on Wednesdays, and the kitchen serves lunch Monday through Friday. The organization has given away more than 5,000 tons of food over five years, and currently distributes about one million pounds of food per year.
How to Pick Up
The pantry runs on Wednesdays. The soup kitchen serves lunch to neighbors Monday through Friday. Visitors can come to Hope City KC at 5101 E. 24th Street, Kansas City, MO 64127. One community member noted they go daily when in need, which shows the doors are open regularly.

How to Join the Team?
Hope City KC welcomes volunteers and interns. The kitchen welcomes families and groups who want to serve. One volunteer shared that they "served in the kitchen with my family and got to take a tour."
The Hope City Day Program (HCDP) is a structured training internship open to singles ages 18 to 40. Participants learn to work in inner-city missions through prayer, Bible study, serving in the soup kitchen, and taking part in the food distribution project. The program runs in two three-month tracks, with tuition of $500 per individual or $1,000 per family per track. All tuition is due by the first day of orientation. Housing is not provided.
