Who Can Visit?

Cameron's emergency food pantry is for families who need food. The free hot lunch is open to everyone in the community, and you don't need an appointment to come and eat.

To get a food pantry box, you need to call ahead and set up a pickup time.

How to Order?

Call the Food Pantry Coordinator at (585) 254-2697 ext. 114. They'll ask how many people are in your family and then arrange a time for you to pick up your box.

Items Needed for Registration

Bring a photo ID for each member of your family.

How Often You Can Visit?

You can request a food pantry box once a month. The free hot lunch is served five days a week, Monday through Friday.

Good to Know

The food boxes are generous and well stocked. One visitor said her box was almost as big as she was. If you can't stay to eat, you can also take the hot lunch to go.

Food & Essentials

The emergency food box comes packed with groceries, including meat like beef and poultry. Cameron also hands out free bread. The hot lunch is filling and nutritious, with fresh fruit, vegetables, and dessert items.

How to Pick Up

Emergency food comes as a pre-packed Food Pantry Box. After you call to place your order, the staff set up a pickup time and help load the box into your car. The hot lunch is served on-site Monday through Friday from 12 to 1:30 pm, and you can also get it as a take-away meal.

Additional Support

Beyond food, Cameron can connect you with other help, including:

  • Food Stamp (SNAP) information
  • Personal care and hygiene products, including items like Pull-ups
  • Street Outreach every Tuesday from 1 to 3 pm, meeting in the Teen Center parking lot
  • Referrals to other community services

Facilities

Cameron runs a Clothing Boutique where you can get free clothing. It's open every Thursday from 1 to 4 pm for shopping without an appointment.

Ways to Give

You can donate through PayPal, and you don't need a PayPal account to give. You can also mail a check made out to Cameron Community to 48 Cameron Street, Rochester, NY. Cameron welcomes clothing donations too, such as clothes, shoes, boots, coats, blankets, kitchen items, and especially ladies' dresses and skirts. Learn more on the donate page.

How to Join the Team?

To get started, fill out the form on the volunteer page, and the volunteer coordinator will reach out to talk about how you'd like to help. You can also call (585) 254-2697 with questions.
