Good to Know
This is a small pantry that currently serves up to 40 families each time it's open, so it's a good idea to call and reserve your spot early.
Food & Essentials
Joseph's Place is a client choice food pantry, which means each guest picks their own food based on the pantry's distribution guidelines. Visitors have also shared that the team is ready to help with clothing and can point families toward other resources they need.
How to Pick Up
As a client choice pantry, guests choose the food they want from what's on hand, following the pantry's distribution guidelines. Food is given out by appointment only.
Additional Support
Volunteers make deliveries to guests who are homebound and can't come in person. Visitors have also said the team is happy to listen and can connect people to the right place when they need more than food.
Ways to Give
Joseph's Place relies on donations from the community to keep going. A monthly food drive called Food Frenzy is held in the Cathedral narthex on the 3rd Sunday of each month, and direct food and money donations are welcome too. Some of the pantry's operating costs are also covered by state and federal grants.
How to Join the Team?
Joseph's Place runs entirely on volunteers, with about 25 people helping in many ways, such as scheduling appointments, stocking shelves, delivering food to the homebound, picking up donations from area stores, and helping guests choose their food. If you'd like to lend a hand, you can reach the Cathedral at 585-254-3221.
