Tri-County Soul Ministries
Tri-County Soul Ministries
Tri-County Soul Ministries is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization made up of churches and civic groups that have joined together to help people in need in the local area. They have been serving the community since 1988 and are located next to Springdale Nazarene Church. They run two programs: a food pantry and the Caring Center, which offers financial assistance to help people get back on their feet.
Who Can Visit?
The food pantry is open to residents in these zip codes:
- 45218 (Greenhills)
- 45246 (Springdale)
- 45240 (Forest Park — except those already served by Corpus Christi Food Pantry)
Members of the sponsor church congregations are also welcome. This is an equal opportunity program open to all who qualify.
How to Register?
New clients must bring the following on their first visit:
- A photo ID
- Two (2) current bills dated within the last month as proof of your address (such as an energy bill, water bill, phone bill, or rent receipt)
- Proof of address for other members of your household
Returning clients need to bring:
- One (1) bill no more than one month old
- For school-aged children: proof from their school (report card, progress report, or letter) showing they live at your address — this is required on your second visit and once per school year after that
- Other household members must show proof of address once per year
How Often You Can Visit?
You may shop at the food pantry once per month. During the calendar year, you may choose one month to shop a second time.
Good to Know
This is a choice food pantry, which means you get to pick the items you want — just like shopping in a store. The number of points you have to spend is based on your family size and current USDA guidelines. A volunteer will be with you the whole time to help you and track your points.
The Caring Center is a separate faith-based program that requires an application and an interview. It can provide money to help people make real changes in their lives. To take part, clients are asked to attend church regularly — staff will help you find a church if you don't have one. The Caring Center also strongly recommends applying for food stamps (you can do this at the pantry if you've never applied in Ohio before) and signing up for PIPP (Percentage of Income Payment Plus) to help lower your energy costs, unless your heat is included in your rent.
Food & Essentials
The food pantry is stocked with:
- Food items
- Household and cleaning supplies
- Toiletries
- Paper goods
- Clothing items
How to Pick Up
Clients shop in person at the pantry during open hours. A volunteer is always present to assist you and keep track of your points as you choose your items.
Hours:
- Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: 6:00 – 7:30 PM
- Last Saturday of each month (except November and December)
Additional Support
The Caring Center may provide monetary assistance to help clients improve their overall living situation through a faith-based, goal-oriented process. Staff will work with you one-on-one to support your journey.
