Who Can Visit?

May Dugan Center's food pantry is open to anyone in the community who needs help. No appointment is needed to receive food, and both walk-ins and people with scheduled appointments are welcome every distribution day.

How Often You Can Visit?

Each household can come once per week.

Good to Know

Walk-ins start at 11:30am and are served on a first-come, first-served basis until walk-in food runs out. Some food is held for households that scheduled appointments in advance, so food may still be available in the building even after walk-in supplies are gone. If you plan to come later in the day, the center strongly recommends scheduling an appointment ahead of time to guarantee food will be there for you. Appointments begin at 12:00pm, and you can arrive up to one hour after your scheduled time as long as distribution is still open. No same-day appointments are available.

You can schedule an appointment in person, by calling (216) 631-5800 ext. 300, or by booking online at the food distribution page.

If you need to pick up food for another household, you can do that with a proxy form available at the front desk. One person can pick up for up to four households.

Food & Essentials

Each visit comes with pre-packed pantry bags that include fresh produce and meat when it's available. All food is pre-packed, and each household receives the full bag or bags provided.

How to Pick Up

When you arrive, check in at the front desk and wait in line if needed. Walk-ins are served starting at 11:30am on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have an appointment, it begins at 12:00pm.

Additional Support

Beyond food, May Dugan Center offers a wide range of services. The Behavioral Health Services program provides mental health counseling and substance abuse disorder treatment, including intensive outpatient programs. The Education and Resource Center offers free adult education, including GED test preparation, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), workforce development, and financial coaching through the Financial Opportunity Center®. The Trauma Recovery Center provides support for victims of crime and trauma. The Seniors on the Move program helps older adults stay active, connected, and healthy. Social workers at the center can also help connect visitors with SNAP (food stamp) enrollment assistance and referrals to the Legal Aid Society.

Facilities

The center has a free clothing room open to the community. Visitors can come once a week and choose up to 10 items per person. No ID is required. Just sign the sheet with your first and last name and the number of items you're taking. The clothing room is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30am to 2:30pm, but call ahead to confirm an attendant is on duty. Only four people are allowed in the room at a time.

Ways to Give

You can make a monetary donation online at the May Dugan Center donation page. The center also welcomes in-kind donations of food, clothing, and other items. Visit the In-Kind Donations page to learn what's needed and how to drop off your contribution.

How to Join the Team?
