Who Can Visit?

The West Side Catholic Center is open to anyone in need — individuals, families, seniors, youth, and veterans are all welcome. You don't need to live in a specific area, and there's no ID required to receive food or use other services. No appointment or paperwork is needed for hot meals. All services are completely free.

Good to Know

If you're not sure where to start, just walk in and staff will help you find the right service. The center can get busy at times, so calling (216) 631-4741 before your first choice pantry visit to schedule a time is a good idea. There's security on-site and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. Visitors can also use the center as a mailing address.

Food & Essentials

WSCC serves two hot meals a day, six days a week. Breakfast is at 9am and lunch is at noon Monday through Friday. On Saturdays, breakfast is served at 9am and dinner at 4:30pm. Alongside the daily hot meals, a choice food pantry offering emergency groceries is available on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 9:30am to 11:30am and on the 4th Monday of the month from 9:30am to noon.

How to Pick Up

Hot meals are walk-in — just come during open hours and you'll be served at the Resource Center. For the choice pantry, it's best to call (216) 631-4741 to schedule an appointment in advance. On Saturday pantry days, walk-ins are sometimes welcome after 11am. The pantry is a client-choice setup where you select your own groceries. Check the Resource Center's Monthly Calendar to confirm upcoming pantry dates.

Additional Support

A monthly mobile produce pantry distributes fresh fruits and vegetables on the last Saturday of each month from 9:30am to noon — check the Resource Center's Monthly Calendar for the current date. Clothing, shoes, and personal hygiene products are available by appointment, which you can schedule with staff in person. Barber services are available by appointment on most weekdays. Staff can help with ID recovery and birth certificate vouchers, benefits navigation, and referrals to outside agencies. Legal Aid holds a monthly advice clinic on-site, and legal services are offered on select Wednesdays. The MetroHealth Mobile Clinic visits every Wednesday, and a nurses' clinic runs throughout the week. Workforce development includes a 4-week Culinary Academy with hands-on kitchen training and ServSafe certification. Family support services include personalized coaching, parenting education, school enrollment help, and distribution of baby items, coats, and school supplies. WSCC also offers housing programs for families experiencing homelessness through its Moriah House shelter and Zacchaeus Housing Solutions program.

Facilities

The Resource Center has on-site showers available by appointment. Visitors can use the on-site phone and pick up mail at the center's mailboxes. A day shelter space is open for rest and respite during center hours.

Ways to Give

Financial donations can be made online at wsccenter.org/donatehere as a one-time or monthly gift. Other options include employer matching gifts, planned giving, and gifts of securities. In-kind donations of clothing, shoes, hygiene products, baby items, and pantry staples are also accepted. You can shop the Amazon Wish List for specific items currently needed. To organize a collection drive for your school, workplace, or community group, register at wsccenter.org/hostadrive. For donation questions, contact the WSCC Advancement Team at info@wsccenter.org or (216) 631-4741.
