Food & Essentials
Each Family Food Bag contains 9 to 12 nutritious meals per person. Around the holidays, the center distributes Thanksgiving bags filled with sweet potatoes, stuffing, and green beans, and Christmas bags with potatoes, canned vegetables, and fresh carrots for a full holiday dinner.
How to Pick Up
Bags are distributed outside at the center on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 AM to 1 PM. Just show up during those hours with your documents.
Additional Support
Community Meals: Every Wednesday starting at 11 AM, the center serves a free bowl of artisan soup as part of the "Stirring Up Hope" partnership with EDWINS Restaurant. Anyone who needs a simple, healthy meal is welcome, no questions asked.
Babies' Care Cupboard: A monthly Friday event for mothers with children from pregnancy to 24 months old. Participants receive information on early childhood development along with baby items such as diapers, wipes, and formula based on available donations.
Holiday Bags: Before Thanksgiving and Christmas, the center packs and distributes 500 food bags each holiday to local families and individuals. To donate food or take part in these events, call (216) 631-6434.
Summer Youth Program: Every Thursday in July, more than 60 children enjoy a free summer lunch along with activities and learning.
Facilities
Clothing Bank: Free gently used clothing for the whole family is available on the front porch, including items for all ages plus men's and children's shoes and socks. Families can visit once every two weeks. Just sign in with your name and phone number when you arrive. There are no other requirements.
Household Goods: Free gently used household items are available at no charge, including linens (wash cloths, towels, and sheets), kitchenware (utensils, plates, silverware, and cookware), and small appliances like toasters, coffee pots, and can openers. No requirements to participate.
Furniture: Free small furniture items such as dressers, lamps, chairs, kitchen tables, end tables, and rugs are available to anyone who needs them. For larger items like beds or couches, you can fill out a request form and the center will try to find a donor match. Large furniture requests are limited to one item per family per year.
Ways to Give
To make a financial donation, visit the center's donate page to give online through PayPal or by mail. The center also welcomes donations of current-season clothing (men's and children's shoes and socks are always in high demand), household goods (towels, sheets, and kitchen utensils are especially needed), small furniture, and food. Please don't leave donations at the door while the center is closed. Clothing donations are limited to six kitchen-size bags at a time due to space. To donate food for the Thanksgiving or Christmas bags, call (216) 631-6434.
