Who Can Visit?

The Broad Street Food Pantry is open to everyone in the community. No membership or church affiliation is required. Neighbors in need of food are welcome to come during regular pantry hours.

Items Needed for Registration

Bring a photo ID and something with your address on it when you visit. One reviewer noted you need your ID and proof of address to get checked in.

How Often You Can Visit?

You can visit up to twice a month per household.

Good to Know

The pantry serves around 50 to 60 families each day and closes promptly at 10:30 AM, so arriving early is a good idea. A volunteer will check you in and give you a choice order form so you can select the items you'd like. Reviewers say you receive a good amount of food per visit.

Food & Essentials

The pantry provides meat, milk, eggs, shelf-stable foods, and a wide variety of fresh, nutritious produce. Shelf-stable items include pasta, cereal, canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned beans, canned soup, instant oatmeal, and instant mashed potatoes. The pantry also distributes diapers, feminine hygiene products, toilet paper, and occasionally pet food for dogs and cats.

How to Pick Up

On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, food is distributed through a drive-thru service. Pull up in your car, and a volunteer will come to check you in and hand you a choice order form. Then another volunteer will bring your food right to your car. If you don't have a car, you can walk in through the sliding glass doors on the east side of the building, place your order, and a volunteer will bring your food to you. On Wednesdays, everyone shops in person inside the pantry and can choose their own items from the shelves.

Additional Support

The pantry delivers meal kits each month to over 400 senior and working families who aren't able to come in person. The church also runs COMPASS, a program that can help with emergency rental and utility assistance. You can find out more at the COMPASS page.

Ways to Give

Cash donations help the pantry buy meat, milk, eggs, produce, and other nutritious essentials. More than 85% of the food in the pantry is purchased from Mid-Ohio Foodbank or local retailers. You can give online through RebelGive, Venmo, or PayPal. The pantry also welcomes donations of unexpired shelf-stable foods and fresh produce. To organize a healthy food drive, contact Kathy Kelly-Long at kklong@bspc.org.

How to Join the Team?

Volunteers help neighbors shop the choice pantry, assist during produce festivals, and pick up produce and bread from Mid-Ohio Foodbank. Youth volunteers are welcome. You can schedule shifts at your convenience by creating an account at volunteer.hungerfreeamerica.org and signing up there. You can also sign up directly at tinyurl.com/PantryCrew. Volunteer hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
