Who Can Visit?
The Student Food Pantry at the Monda Student Resource Center is open to any undergraduate, graduate, or professional student who has a valid BuckID from The Ohio State University. You don't need to show proof of income or meet any other eligibility criteria beyond being a current OSU student with a valid BuckID.
If you're not an OSU student, you can visit the I Need Help page for a list of community food resources open to the public, including FreshTrak.
Items Needed for Registration
Bring your valid BuckID. That's all you need to use the pantry.
Food & Essentials
The pantry provides groceries and essential non-food items to OSU students. Based on what the pantry accepts as donations, items available include bread, baking supplies such as flour, sugar, and baking powder, canned fruits and vegetables, canned soups, cereal, condiments, granola bars, spices and seasonings, and snack foods. Personal care products like soap, shampoo, deodorant, and razors are also available.
How to Pick Up
The pantry uses a client-choice model, so you can pick items based on your own needs. One reviewer shared that staff are helpful and friendly, and if an item you requested isn't available, a staff member will swap it for something else or let you know.
Facilities
The pantry is located inside the Monda Student Resource Center at the Younkin Success Center. The center also houses the Reid Family Career Closet, nutrition coaching, wellness coaching, and a student support specialist. Use the Neil Ave entrance and head to the back of the building on the first floor.
Ways to Give
You can donate to support the pantry and the Monda Student Resource Center in several ways.
Food and in-kind donations of unopened, non-perishable, non-expired food, baby items, hygiene products, and clothing are accepted. Volunteers are expected to attend bi-weekly general body meetings, complete 2 volunteer hours per week in the Monda Student Resource Center, join one of three committees (fundraising, marketing, or education), and complete 1 tabling hour per semester.
