The Salvation Army Columbus Hilltop Corps food pantry is open to anyone in the community who needs food assistance. No appointment is required to visit during pantry hours.
Food & Essentials
The pantry provides a variety of groceries including fresh fruits and vegetables, real meat such as hamburger and turkey sausage, produce, snacks, and other pantry items. The Salvation Army in Central Ohio also provides senior food boxes. Reviewers have noted a good variety of items available.

The Salvation Army Hilltop Corps offers a wide range of services beyond food. You can get help with emergency utility assistance, and staff can give you information and referrals to other resources such as rent help. The corps also runs youth programs including summer programs for kids and dance classes. A community takeout lunch called Lord's Table is served on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A senior program meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Holiday assistance including toys and food for Christmas is also available each year. The organization can also help veterans and trafficking survivors through the broader Salvation Army network.

The pantry's wish list for food donations includes peanut butter, canned meats, and canned fruits. You can also donate personal care items such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and deodorant. To arrange a donation pickup of clothing, furniture, or household items, you can schedule a date and time online. Note that this location does not accept drop-off donations of goods.
How to Join the Team?
The Salvation Army welcomes volunteers year-round. Volunteer opportunities include packing food boxes at the food pantries Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., driving a box truck to pick up food and toy donations, ringing bells at Red Kettles, and hosting food drives or personal care product drives.
