Who Can Visit?

Anyone who needs food is welcome here. You'll share how many people live in your household and their ages. You must meet income guidelines to receive food, but this is self-reported — no proof of income is required at the time of your visit. You'll be asked to sign that the information you share is correct.

Even if you don't have all the required documents on your first visit, the pantry will still serve you one time.

Items Needed for Registration

Bring a photo ID and a piece of mail with your name and current address on it (such as a utility bill). You'll also share the names of everyone in your household.

How Often You Can Visit?

You can do a full shop once a month. In addition, you can come back weekly to pick up produce and bread.

Good to Know

Come early — lines can get long, especially on busy days. Visitors sometimes start lining up well before the pantry opens, so arriving 15 to 45 minutes ahead of opening can help you get in faster. Expect to wait anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour depending on the day and time. The amount and variety of food available can change from visit to visit depending on what's been donated. Produce quality varies too — some items may need to be used quickly after you get home. Saturday restocks may mean items are pre-packed rather than self-selected.

Food & Essentials

The pantry provides a wide variety of free food, including fresh produce like fruits and vegetables, bread, bakery items, and muffins, canned goods, dairy items like milk and eggs, meat and protein like ground beef, chicken, pork, bacon, and sometimes whole rotisserie chickens or large cuts, frozen fruits and frozen meats, and snack foods. During a full monthly shop, you can expect items across all these categories. Weekly produce visits focus on fresh fruits, vegetables, and bread. The selection varies based on what has been donated.

Reviews mention pet food and personal care items like diapers and wipes may sometimes be available — ask staff about extras.

How to Pick Up

This location offers two ways to get food:

Self-select shopping: You walk through the pantry and choose your own items from shelves, refrigerators, and freezers — similar to a grocery store. This is the full monthly shop option, and staff and volunteers are on hand to help.

Express drive-thru pickup: Volunteers fill a cart with items and load them directly into your car. You stay in your vehicle the whole time. This option is available for those who prefer not to shop in-person. No appointment is needed.

Additional Support

Beyond food, Mid-Ohio Food Collective offers several family support services:

SNAP benefits help: The team can walk you through applying for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), which gives you a card to buy groceries at regular stores. You can call 614-782-5503 or use the online portal to apply on your own.

Healthcare navigation: Staff can help you find and enroll in low- or no-cost health insurance.

CSFP — monthly senior food boxes: Ohioans aged 60 or over with household income at or below 150% of federal poverty guidelines can receive a monthly box of shelf-stable food items such as cheese, juice, cereal, pasta, peanut butter, and canned goods. Contact a CSFP partner agency to apply.

WIC: Pregnant and breastfeeding women and children up to age five can access food, education, and support through the WIC program.

Ohio Department of Job and Family Services referrals: The team can connect you with job training, childcare assistance, cash assistance, Medicaid, and emergency (PRC) help.

Rides: The pantry helps connect neighbors with low incomes to ride services so they can get to the pantry.

Community referrals: Call 211 to reach Lutheran Social Services for help finding food pantries, rent assistance, housing, and other services.
