Good to Know

This pantry is one of only six food pantries in the Pittsburgh area with a dedicated gluten-free section. It's set aside for people who need gluten-free food due to a medical condition.

Food & Essentials

The pantry distributes shelf-stable groceries including peanut butter, canned beans, canned tuna, pasta sauce, ramen, boxed side dishes, and snack foods. Fresh produce harvested from NHCO's community garden is also distributed at the food pantries.

Additional Support

NHCO offers many free services beyond food. These include free tax preparation, services for older adults, transportation assistance, a Pathways Program to help people set and reach goals, utilities and rental assistance, education assistance, and free 30-minute legal consultations through Ask The Attorney. Employment services are also available to connect unemployed adults with career counseling.

Ways to Give

Food donations are accepted at any NHCO location Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm, with no appointment needed. Most-needed items include peanut butter, canned beans, canned tuna, pasta sauce, ramen, boxed side dishes, and snack foods. You can also order from NHCO's Amazon Wishlist and have items shipped directly. Fresh produce from home gardens is welcome as long as items are properly labeled. Please don't bring expired food, prepared food, or clothing and household items, as NHCO can't accept these.

Financial donations can be made online at nhco.org/donate, by texting NHCO to 44-321, or by mailing a check to North Hills Community Outreach, 1975 Ferguson Road, Allison Park, PA 15101. You can also call 412-487-6316, opt. 1 x 3131, to donate by phone. Your employer may match your gift.

How to Join the Team?

NHCO welcomes adult and youth volunteers. Fill out the adult volunteer registration form or youth volunteer registration form online and someone will get back to you. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Corporate groups can email volunteer@nhco.org to arrange a group volunteer day.
