Who Can Visit?
PCSI's food pantry is open to Pittsburgh residents who meet income eligibility guidelines. You can call, email, or just drop by during pantry hours to pick up groceries.
Items Needed for Registration
All pantry visitors must complete an intake form once a year. On your first visit, or at the start of a new year, please bring:
- A photo ID for the head of household
- Some form of identification for all other household members
- Proof of income sources and amounts for everyone in your household (your household must meet income eligibility guidelines)
- Proof of Pittsburgh residency
If you don't have income or are unhoused, you'll need to sign an affidavit confirming that.
How Often You Can Visit?
Customers can receive assistance once per month.
Good to Know
Bring your own grocery bags if you have them. Starting July 2025, every pantry visitor is automatically entered in a monthly raffle to win a brand-new food preparation appliance. Winners are drawn at the end of each month, and prizes can be picked up on your next visit.

Additional Support
PCSI holds cooking demonstrations and nutrition workshops throughout the year. Check the events calendar for upcoming dates, including pop-up food events with community partners across the city.
Beyond food, PCSI offers a wide range of services for Pittsburgh residents, including one-on-one employment and career support, reentry resources for people leaving incarceration (including help with record sealing, expungement, and pardons), the Roadmap financial coaching program, a monthly housing list of available rental units in Allegheny County, and connections to community resources like the Dollar Energy Fund for utility assistance. PCSI also runs workshops and training programs on topics like financial empowerment, CPR certification, and more.

PCSI welcomes financial donations by check or online. Make checks payable to "Pittsburgh Community Services Inc." and mail to 249 N. Craig St., Pittsburgh, PA 15213, Attn: Development. You can also give online at the donate page.
