Neighborhood Christian Center
Who Can Visit?
Neighborhood Christian Centers is here for families and individuals in crisis throughout Memphis who need emergency food, clothing, or housing items. If you're going through a hard time and need help, you're welcome to reach out to them.
Food & Essentials
The pantry distributes food boxes that include a variety of items. Visitors have received fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, and meat such as hot dogs. The center also provides clothing, including fall and winter items, free to those who need it.
NCC also packs special food boxes for seniors and the elderly, reaching families in multiple counties through this program.
How to Pick Up
Food is distributed drive-thru style. You can stay in your vehicle and receive your food box at the site.
Additional Support
NCC offers a home delivery program for people who can't come in to pick up food. If you or someone you know is homebound, this service may be available to help.
The center also partners with MLG&W to offer a utility assistance program for Memphis residents who need help with their energy bills. The program opens on the first and third Wednesday of each month, while funds are available. Applications are accessed through the NCC website.
Through the Holey Cakes bakery, NCC also provides hands-on job training for people looking to build skills for work.
Youth services are available for young people ages 5 to 18, with programs focused on education and preparation for college or vocational school.
Ways to Give
NCC welcomes both financial and in-kind donations. You can give online at ncclife.org/yourimpactmatters.
For in-kind donations, they accept non-perishable foods, clothes (currently fall and winter items), office supplies, snacks for youth programs, furniture, and large appliances. Donations can be dropped off at their 223 Scott St. location, Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. If you have furniture or other large items, NCC's team can arrange a pick-up for you.
