Who Can Visit?

St. Mary's Soup Kitchen is open to anyone in the community who is poor, homeless, or less fortunate. You don't need to register or make an appointment ahead of time. Just come as you are.

Good to Know

The kitchen serves more than 300 meals every day and has been doing so since 1870. Meals are served over a four-hour window each morning, six days a week. Volunteers and staff greet everyone warmly and send guests off with a "Have a blessed day!"

Food & Essentials

Each day St. Mary's serves a full hot meal that includes beverages, pastries, a meat sandwich, a peanut butter sandwich, a 16-ounce cup of soup, and fruit, candy, or chips.

How to Pick Up

St. Mary's is a soup kitchen, so meals are prepared and served on-site. There's no food to take home. You come in, sit down, and a hot meal is brought to you.

Ways to Give

You can donate money online through PayPal or by credit card at stmaryssoupkitchen.org/donate. To give by check or money order, mail it to St. Mary's Soup Kitchen, 155 Market Street, Memphis, TN 38105. Memorial and tribute gifts are also welcome. The kitchen's most-needed food items include cereals (Fruit Loops, Lucky Charms, Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes), canned fruits (peaches, pears, fruit cocktail), coffee, creamer, sugar, bread, lunch meats, sliced cheese, beef broth, chicken broth, peanut butter, jelly, and individual-size snacks like chips, cookies, and crackers. Styrofoam cups in 8 oz and 16 oz sizes are also needed.

Volunteers are welcome Monday through Friday from 7:15 AM to 10:00 AM. To sign up, visit signup.com/go/fDEALMk or call (901) 522-9420. More than 50 volunteers from the tri-state area already help make the ministry possible, and they promise you'll find it rewarding and fun.
