Who Can Visit?

The Gethsemane Food Pantry and Clothes Closet is open to anyone in need. There's no mention of income requirements or proof of residency, so everyone is welcome to come and receive support.

The pantry has been serving the community since the 1970s, when it started as an Eagle Scout project, and it's grown to serve thousands of people each year. The pantry offers a range of food staples and clothing. Here's what they typically have available:

Food items:

• Canned vegetables and beans

Clothing and shoes:

• Clean and gently used clothing and shoes for men, women, and children

How to Pick Up

Distributions happen every Tuesday from 9 am to 12 pm at 200 W. Anderson Lane. There's no pre-registration mentioned, so you can walk in during those hours. If you take the bus, stop 5646 on Route 323 serves this location.

Ways to Give

There are several ways to support the food pantry and the broader ministry at Gethsemane:

• Donate food: The pantry accepts canned vegetables and beans, saltine crackers, canned fruit, rice and dried beans, soups and Ramen noodles, canned meat products, pasta and sauces, Macaroni and Cheese, and peanut butter and jelly.
• Donate clothing: Clean and serviceable clothing and shoes in the current season for men, women, and children are always welcome.

How to Join the Team?

Volunteers are needed to help sort clothes, stock the closet, and distribute food and clothes during Tuesday distribution days. You can also volunteer through special events like "God's Work, Our Hands" Sunday each September, where members come together for various service projects.
