Who Can Visit?

Catholic Charities Dallas Hunger Services pantries are open to anyone who needs food. You're eligible if your family receives government benefits such as SNAP, TANF, SSI, NSLP, Medicare, or Medicaid, and no proof is required. Families whose income falls under the Federal Poverty Guidelines are also eligible, with no proof required. Families facing a temporary crisis due to a natural disaster or homelessness automatically qualify to receive services.

Please note that food isn't available at this location. To receive food, you'll need to visit one of the fixed food pantries listed in the How to Pick Up section, or stop by one of their mobile pantries in your area.

How to Pick Up

Catholic Charities Dallas operates 5 fixed food pantries at convenient, safe, and clean locations. Some of these locations offer a client-choice model, which means you can walk through and pick the specific food items you want rather than receiving a pre-packed bag.

The 5 fixed pantry locations and their schedules are:

  • Jan Pruitt Community Pantry (serving zip codes 75134, 75146, 75172, 75141, 75241, 75154): 123 Alexander Ave, Lancaster TX 75146. Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday: 8:00 am to 10:00 am and 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Wednesday and Friday: 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
  • Our Lady of San Juan de Lagos (Santa Teresita): 2601 Singleton Blvd, Dallas, TX 75212. Monday: 9:30 am to 11:00 am.
  • Our Lady of Perpetual Help: 7617 Cortland Ave, Dallas, TX 75235. Thursday: 9:30 am to 11:00 am.
  • Ennis Container Pantry: 401 East Lampasas St., Ennis, TX 75119. Tuesday through Saturday: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
  • Joe's Pantry (serving zip codes 75231, 75240, 75251, 75243, 75081): 8102 Lyndon B. Johnson Fwy, Dallas, TX 75251. Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday: 8:00 am to 10:00 am and 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Wednesday and Friday: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Additional Support

Catholic Charities Dallas also runs five mobile community pantries that travel to over 90 sites across the nine counties of the Diocese of Dallas. The mobile pantries are drive-through only, and you'll want to make sure your trunk is empty before arriving. All mobile pantry dates are subject to change. SNAP Assistance: Help with food stamp enrollment and applications is available by calling 972-587-8001.

Immigration Legal Services: The team helps with family visa petitions, green card applications, naturalization and citizenship applications, DACA renewals, and more. First-time consultations are available on Tuesdays and Fridays. Call 214-634-7182 for more information.

Educational Services: Adult literacy and early childhood education programs are offered through the Cardinal Farrell Community Center. Call 214-337-0175 for details.

Refugee Services: Support for refugees includes job assistance and guidance. Call 214-553-9909.

Homelessness and Housing Services: Support for people facing housing insecurity is available through the main line at 866-CCD-7500.

Financial Stability and Career Services: Financial coaching and career support are available. Call 214-389-1435.

Disaster Relief: A disaster hotline is available at 214-257-0674.

Pregnancy, Parenting, and Adoption Services: Family support services are available by calling 214-526-2772.

Vocational Training: The organization offers vocational training programs to help people gain new skills and find employment.

How to Join the Team?

You can volunteer with Catholic Charities Dallas by visiting ccdallas.org/get-involved/volunteer-opportunities/.

Women are welcome to join the Angels of Charity, a women's auxiliary with over 800 members from parishes throughout Dallas and surrounding areas. There's no annual membership fee, and each member sets their own level of participation. To learn more, contact Jody McDaniel, Angels of Charity President.

Men can join the Archangels Men's Network, a social and service network that supports the organization's Hunger Services mission through service projects, fellowship, and fundraising. To join or learn more, visit ccdallas.org/archangels-mens-network/ or email info@ccdallas.org.

If your organization or church is interested in becoming a mobile pantry partner, Catholic Charities Dallas can provide food at no cost, delivery at no cost, civil rights training, food handler licensing, volunteer training, and logistics support. In return, they ask that you provide a parking space for a 33-foot truck, recruit volunteers, participate in a monthly food drop, and help with data entry.
